BRIDGE CLASSES
English Language Institute helping you transition into college classes.
The Bridge
sections of General Studies classes offer English Language Learners
(ELL) access to trained professionals in both Communication Skills and
ELL. The role of the Bridge instructor is to guide students through the
course and provide additional practice, guidance, and support. In
addition, the Bridge instructor helps ELL students navigate through the
Wisconsin Technical College system and succeed in the following
objectives: learning, course completion, and achieving individual goals.
Both native English speakers and non-native English speakers
study in the same class. The classes are credit courses and are required in
programs at FVTC.
Bridge
classes provide the ELL student with supplemental support such as
preview and review of lessons with the ELL instructor, pronunciation
assistance, grammar and vocabulary review and personalized attention.
