Find Books: Printed and Electronic
After clay tablets and papyrus scrolls , there were physical books that were made of symbols put on a collection of bound pages or leaves, protected with two covers.
Now we are back to tablets again, and ebooks are much more than just a bunch of "pages" between two "covers".
We still have some printed books at the FVTC Library. You can find them by using our FVTC Catalog to find materials available for checkout from FVTC Library.
E-Books
FVTC Library Services provides a large collection of e-Books
through our EBSCO eBook Collection*.
*To access these databases off campus, you will need to be a current Student,
Faculty or Staff of FVTC with a MyFVTC account.
Log in to Library proxy pop-up box with your MyFVTC
Student-ID-Number@fvtc.edu or
Staff-ID@fvtc.edu (must type @fvtc.edu after ID) and
your MyFVTC password.
For items not available without membership subscription, order through
FVTC Interlibrary Loan Request form.
Free eBooks
Perhaps the most used e-books are the free ebooks like these:
The U.S. government provides many free ebooks (funded by taxes) such as from the
The
National Academies Press (NAP).
"The National Academies Press is proud to be one of the only online bookstores that provides anyone in the connected world with free page-by-page access to all
of our books."
